New Jaccede: what’s new?
One of the biggest obstacles standing in the way of people with limited mobility getting out and about more is a lack of accessibility information. With the Jaccede app you can share information that will make life easier for people with either temporary or permanent mobility issues.
The latest version of Jaccede has plenty of new features!
Searching just got easier
By default, only those places we have information about are displayed. Tick the option on the right of the search box to see all places.
In a single glance you can identify the locations that already have accessibility information attributed to them (accessibility details, and even photos and/or comments). These locations' icons will be highlighted in colour, whilst those that don't yet have any accessibility information will be faded.
Searching just got personal…
Our new platform allows you to personalise your search requests, by using the filters to return only the places that suit your particular needs. In this way, only results that match your criteria and that interest you will show up. For example, you can choose to only view places that have level access, or those that have a magnetic loop fitted.
Contributing just got easier…
Jaccede is now using the Google Maps locations database to make it even easier for you to add new locations to the guide.
This new feature is a mini-revolution:
- Gone are the days of duplicate entries! By having only one profile per location, all information can be found in one place.
- Gone are the days of spending valuable time entering the basic information about a place (name, address, opening hours, etc). Now all you have to do is find the location using our powerful search tool, and add the accessibility information straight away.
If, in spite of everything, you cannot find the place you want to give information about, it could be that it is not yet indexed by Google. If this happens, use the add a place function by clicking on the button "add a place that isn't listed".
That’s not all…
- Access for all disabilities
Our accessibility criteria have been given a revamp to reflect the full breadth of accessibility needs, for those with a visual, auditory or intellectual disability.
- A guide that’s 100% accessible to all
The online platform is now 100% compatible with features used by deaf, partially hearing, blind or partially-sighted users on their smartphones or desktops, as well as users who do not use a conventional mouse.
- Jaccede got multilingual
Jaccede is now available in four languages: French, English, Spanish and German!
What are you waiting for?
Here at Jaccede we work tirelessly to give you the best user experience possible, so now it’s over to you to have a go! Take a spin on our new accessibility criteria, add photos, comments; do it all!
Each new contribution is a step further towards getting more and more people out and about. Experience the new Jaccede for yourself.
